Tap to ID: Smart Access and Verifiable Credentials via SSI Smartcard
Gimly ID is a 'Tap to ID' solution, implementing self-sovereign identity over NFC technology in mobile devices and smart cards for password-less login and smart access control. This is a short video demonstrating how an SSI smartcard with an embedded decentralized identifier (DID) can be used in smart access control through the presentation and verification of a verifiable credential (VC) that is required to open a smart lock.
In this video, Bob does have the required Employee ID credential to open the smart lock and is thus able to open it, while Alice does not. The smart lock here is represented by a demo app on a mobile device and verifies whether the SSI smartcard presents a valid EmployeeID with the correct security clearance and department attributes.
